Without treatment of H. pylori does not disappear. It spreads through oral-oral, mouth, stomach, and usually by the fecal-oral route. In do not think that is evidence that will be transmitted through the air. I know you can find the bacteria in plaque and saliva. I do not know what mucus.
It is usually asymptomatic. Some experts believe that H. pylori can esophogeal promote cancer, and cause acid reflux. The elderly and immunocompromised rather extensive experience (and not long term), the infection itself causes.
